Find a Job — Apply for a Job — Get a Job

Are you asking yourself “Why am I not getting a response from the HR??” and you are frustrated with your job search journey.

I am Soumya, your Recruiter friend here to help you out.

If job search is on your mind and right now a major part of your day is occupied with working on getting a good job then you are in the perfect place. Finding a job can be a tedious task especially if you are not getting any callbacks or any reply after “we will get back to you” or “your application has been submitted”

I know the feeling I have been in the phase of job search too. But one of the main things which helped me land an interview call was a good email body.

Being a recruiter I have seen different types of applications for different job roles, and here are some things that definitely a jobseeker should NOT do.

  1. Sending your resume to the recruiter without a subject line or anybody.
  2. Not mentioning the profile you are applying for.
  3. If it’s just an inquiry email, then not mentioning the industry or profile you are looking for a job in.
  4. Not providing us with your contact details in the email.
  5. Forgetting to attach your resume.
  6. Sending a 7–8 page resume (is it a resume or a big T&C agreement?)
  7. Not following up
  8. Sending your resume to multiple recruiters in BCC mail.

Some things which you should Definitely Do

  1. The subject line should be “Applying for the role of XYZ”
  2. Start with a warm wish instead of “This is in reference to” or synonyms of that phrase.
  3. The email body should contain a brief about you and why would you be fit for the profile. Also, add your preferred location in an inquiry email.
  4. End the email with a positive note where you can add something like “ I look forward to a positive response from your end” or “Have a great day”
  5. Add your Phone number, LinkedIn profile link, and email ID after regards and your name.

Thank you for reading so far! I am sure you are gonna get your dream job soon. Here are some Email templates you can use while applying to jobs.
